Both, galaxy and the iPhone series are one of the most popular smartphone series on the planet. Every year, flagship lovers wait for the launch of the next model of the series. Due to the Note 7 controversy, 2017 is going to be an important year for Samsung and them for sure will try their best to beat their upcoming rival, iPhone 8. Although the confirmed specs of these phones haven’t been announced yet, but there are still some rumored specifications that are likely to be true. So let us now have a look at the rumored specs of both of the flagships and see which is better.
The Comparison: Galaxy S8 vs. iPhone 8
Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to come with a Snapdragon 830 processor with 8GB of RAM whereas iPhone8 is rumored to be packed with apple’s A11 chip with 4GB RAM. As per the rumors, S8 will have a higher RAM as compared to Apple iPhone 8. But what makes S8 special isn’t its multitasking capability bu the new design. Samsung is working on the button-less smartphone for 2017.
As per the recent reports, they are going to remove home button including two capacitive keys and will put new AMOLED display. However, for iPhone 8, we don’t any big news and it’s quite understandable as it will come a bit late at IFA event.
Coming to the camera, the iPhone8 will have a front facing camera of 8MP and a rearview camera of 12MP including dual lens and dual OSIS supporting 4k video recording. The Galaxy S8, on the other hand, is expected to come with a front camera of 12MP with wide angle lens and a rear camera of 16MP featuring optical image optimization and dual lens with up to 4k video recording.
Now, let’s talk about the display. iPhone8 will have Curved OLED 4.7, 5.5 and 5.8inch displays with a resolution of 1920 x 1310 whereas Samsung galaxy s8 will have Super AMOLED 5.7 and 6.3-inch Display with a resolution of 2160 x 3840 (Curved 4K).
Lastly, the storage, iPhone 8 will be available in 32GB, 128GB and a 256GB model which no SD card slot like every other iPhone. On the other hand, S8 will be available in 64GB and a 256GB variant which can be expanded.
2017 is going to be the year for flagship lovers. Both Samsung and Apple will have a tough competition which will make it a daunting task for the buyers to choose the best between the two. The Galaxy S8 release date is expected to be after MWC 2017 whereas the iPhone is likely to be launched at IFA 2017.
