LG is a well-known company and one of the oldest as the company was started in 1958 and was named as Lucky Goldstar. The company did not do well and was re-launched after several years and now it is known as LG. The company is well known for its home appliances. They launched their first ever Smartphone in the year of 2009 and since then they have grabbed a part of Smartphone market. LG and HTC are the companies who are in direct competition as their market shares almost the same. LG launched their latest flagship device, the G5 this year and is expected to unveil the next iteration LG G6 soon, whereas HTC came up with the HTC 10. Let’s have a look at how well they compete against each other.
LG G5 is launched with a 5.3-inch qHD AMOLED display which ensures great viewing angles and color reproduction is great on both the devices as the HTC 10 also have the same resolution and the same AMOLED Display but it is measured at 5.2 inches.
HTC outweighs the LG G5 in terms of the camera as HTC have fitted a 12 ultra pixel shooter compared to a 16 Mega Pixel camera in the G5. Inspire of the less pixel count, HTC 10 manages to shine in both the low light and well-lit conditions. However, the story is a bit different when we talk of the front cameras as LG G5 has an 8 MP shooter compared with the HTC 10’s 5 MP camera. The difference is a lot on paper and the same can be felt in the front facing images.
Both of the devices have the lattes state of the art processor, the Snap Dragon 820 processor, and a 4GB RAM. However, LG G5’s processor is clocked at 2.15 GHz where as HTC 10 has a 16 GHz processor.
Both the devices have a fingerprint scanner which would allow you to unlock the device with a tap on it. HTC 10 has the scanner integrated into the home button of the device where as LG G5’s fingerprint scanner is on the back of the device which is a better way to unlock the device as you don’t have to wake up the phone before unlocking it.
HTC 10 has a metal unibody design which is a normal metal body with some great design factors whereas LG G5 comes with modules which you can use to modify your LG G5’s performance. For instance, if you are low on battery, you can change the battery. When the LG G5 was launched, these modules seemed to be the future of the smart phones but after that, they just sort of died and the limitations can be seen as the G5 comes only with one module for battery.
