The Battle of the 6’s! Apple IPhone 6+ vs. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Apple and Samsung are bitter rivals, but they both have one thing in common – they both make great phones. Just like Coke and Pepsi, they both have slightly different flavors (iOs and Android) but technology lovers anticipate the release of each model that both companies launch. Their newest release the Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge are sure to dominate the world of smartphones this year. They are both similar in many things – the price, features, and cost. But there are a few differences between the phones.

The S6 is rumored to sport a metal casing which will be similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha. Reports also suggest that the Samsung S6 will have a screen which is curved in the end. Both the iPhone 6 and 6 plus are Apples thinnest smartphones till date. It comes with Apple’s signature aluminum casing and has round and smooth edge.

Both the devices have equally impressive screens with the iPhone 6 having a 4.7 inch screen and iPhone 6 Plus a 5.5 inch. The Samsung Galaxy S6 has outdone itself with a 5.2 or 5.3 inch super AMOLED display.

Operating System:

The Galaxy 6 runs on an Android 5.0 Lollipop which is said to be more flexible and customizable. With android, it’s easy to change the layout as well as allows you to pick your own default apps for your home screen. Meanwhile, the latest iOS 8 that comes with the iPhone 6 and 6 plus is more user-friendly and offers a simple and a cleaner design. The iOs is also updated regularly.

The new iPhone 6s are equipped with an A8 Chip and M8 graphic processor. The S6, on the other hand, is rumored to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have a not-so-impressive 8 megapixel camera. The new S6 is rumored to have a 20 MP camera.

Battery Life:

Both the smartphones have a powerful battery life. The iPhone 6 has been tested to run for approximately 14 hours. The Samsung S6 is also rumored to support wireless charging similar to other Android phones. All you have to do is simply place your Samsung Smartphone on the wireless charging pad and recharge your phone.

Storage Capacity:

The previous Samsung models all had sufficient internal storage space and their newest offering is believed to come up with more space plus a Micro SD slot for more memory options. The iPhone 6 versions are also equipped with 128 GB of storage space.

Extra Features:

The S6‘s LED flash also works as a heart rate monitor that can measure your blood oxygen levels.  The iPhone 6 can also work as a heart monitor, but you’ll need to install a third-party app for the task.

Which phone to buy?

The iPhone 6 series has been a massive hit with around 10 million sales in the first three days of its launch. Apple phone have an edge in the smartphone market because of the brand name that Apple has created in the previous years. But Samsung Phones have also established a name in the market for providing smartphones with more features and less money. The S6 is expected to debut in a few days. Will the much-awaited S6 give the iPhone 6 a run for the money? Let’s wait and watch!
